Lea's Journey: Life After Divorce Part 8

So I have written about online dating and the jungle that I called it…..

I have not written about the scammers that reside online and prey on the most vulnerable!

As a newly separated woman who had lived in a sheltered environment for years in my marriage, I discovered I really had no clue what to expect on the side of the dating track….

I soon learnt all about online dating scammers and how they operate!

Initially you get a photo about a guy online who’s incredibly good looking and you’re thinking, “ Wow, good things do happen!”.

These scammers sweet talk you and tell you all you need and want to hear. You figure “What a nice guy!”…. He’s a doctor and he lives somewhere in Africa….

You start falling for this elusive guy, he promises you things…. And the story sounds ok, but not more than that. You ask to talk to them, but they have no phone number… they give you a song and dance about the phone, but they promise to reach out as soon as possible.

Then comes the clincher where now they ask you for money after they lured you in.

This I soon learned was the sick work of people working and preying on the most vulnerable newly divorced!

Learn to decipher a scammer, never give any money, or any personal information…. and most importantly if your gut feels uneasy it’s because it is uneasy….trust your gut!

Play it safe and happy dating!
