Lea's Journey: Life After Divorce Part 7

So in an attempt to make myself feel better…. dating seemed like the right thing to do post divorce and a definite distraction!

and so I became part of what I soon learnt to be a dating jungle.

To say it’s daunting is an understatement! I learnt a lingo only known to people who frequent that jungle like Ghosting, Catfishing or Cuffing season among others....

I realized that not much had changed in the dating world.

What changed however, was my objective and expectation of dating at this stage of my life. At 60 and navigating through harsh and uncharted waters was intimidating to say the least.

Reinventing myself at this stage comes with its own challenges as we are set in our own ways ( at least I am). Learning to accept and adapt to different personalities has been trying. We all have baggage, and realizing that your own baggage is much bigger and fuller makes it harder to trust and communicate. More so then in my past.

So how much baggage are we willing to put up with in our quest for love? Companionship? and Relationship? In my case, a work in progress!…..
